I want to apply for Environmental Engineering but I’m not sure if I should apply for College of Engineering or Life Sciences. My GPA is 3.9 uw and 4.2 w and my ACT is 33. Also my SAT Math II is 750 and SAT Bio is 700 (will be retaking). Which one should I apply to? Or will my chances be the same either way?
Apply engineering because you don’t technically come in as an EnvE, rather you’re unaffiliated as a freshman. This will give you time to make sure you really want to do EnvE and not MechE for example. If you know that you want to do engineering in general apply CoE. CALS has limited engineering majors, and if you decide to switch, you’ll have to go through an internal transfer, which is another application on top of the general admissions application. As for admissions, you stand a decent chance with both CoE and CALS.
