Should I apply to the UCF honors college after the priority deadline?

Hello guys! I have been accepted into UCF, and plan to apply to the honors college.

However I was wondering if I should wait until the 2nd semester starts and I finish my exams, because my rank and GPA will most likely improve immensely (didn’t do so well the last quarter of junior year but I’m still in the top 10%) and I’ll most likely have more recommendation letters and such to turn in. But I heard if you turn in an honors application after Janurary 15th its a lot less likely they’ll even look at your application. So I don’t really know which is the better option.

The reason I’m so eager to have a higher rank and GPA is because my college scores are very low compared to the average in Burnett, so I’m hoping that it’ll help increase my chances. But I’m still unsure what to do. Do you guys have any advice on this?

I know someone who applied near the March 15th deadline and was deferred b/c they had already filled the 500 openings. It is a first come, first serve basis so I recommend that you apply early.

a .1 bump in your GPA is not going to help. You’d increase your odds more if you sent in your application in before better students do.

I took your guys advice and sent my application before the deadline ended. I called the college and they’d said they’d take things like updated transcripts later and add it to my folder.
Thanks for the help!

Any idea when they begin to announce Burnett acceptances?

I think Burnett has rolling decisions just like regular UCF

Thanks. Heard from them yesterday

Awesome, when did you send your application?

Sometime around January 7, I believe
