Should I apply undecided?

I would like to major in computer science,however I did not take the most challenging math and science courses that were offered at my school. But I did take all the computer science courses that were offered at my school and did pretty well in those courses. Because many colleges want students majoring in computer science to have taken advanced courses in math and science, would it be better for me to apply as undecided?

At some colleges, changing into the computer science major after entering in another major or undeclared may be very difficult.

What math and science courses will you complete in high school?

@ucbalumnus Science: Bio(honors),Chem(Regents),Physics(Regnets), Astronomy(Honors-college credit)
Math:Algebra to calculus.I will taking AP Calc Ab this school year

Seems like you have a fairly complete set of science and math courses. You should not be worried about having insufficient science and math to apply to a computer science major, even within an engineering division, as long as your high school is of decent quality.

In many colleges, the computer science major is more selective than the college overall, so adjust your reach/match/safety assessments accordingly. As noted before, trying to backdoor your way into the major by applying and entering undeclared can mean having to compete for entry into the major later, needing a potentially very high college GPA.
