1220 is just not a Harvard score. If I were you I'd take the test again in December and apply regular decision...

I got the ACT on Saturday...I need to finish every question! Let's say I get a 1220 but get mid 700s in my SATIIs? My teacher recs talk about how I should not be punished in the app process because of my lower scores which are actually top percentile in my school which has little Test prep resources. That my awesome transcript AND any "best in my career" rates MAY help me with this...Whatd'ya think?

My ACT was a bombed 26...is that even worse than a 1220...? Maybe I just had a bad test because even on one section I put the answers to a wrong section....wasted time....and had to place them in the section...lost my focus! Let's just hope I am on my ball game this saturday....

As it currently stands, there's no substitute for a better SAT score. Your score of 1220 on the old SAT comes out to the 80th percentile. That's most definitely not Harvard material.

If your scores were around the 1300 range then your other stats/URM status/coming from crappy school would definitely help you out.

I'm not just pulling 1300 out of thin air. 1300 is the magic number for you because it's the start of the 90th percentile on the SAT. So basically if you get around 2000 on the new SAT or a 30 on the ACT, you'll be in decent contention.

cool...:(....but will 750s on SATIIs give a big boost? I heard if you come from a crappy school and the works and have bad SAT scores but SATIIs then they may overlook SAT/ACT?

Then again I probably got like 650s on it....:(.... I think my course load should have been a bit easier to study for all these darn tests!

bump bump bump
