I just spent two hours reading through MIT's admissions blog to make sure I am making a good decision by applying to MIT and to get an idea of what to write about in my essays.

I know that MIT looks at scores very briefly and moves on to the essays, teacher recs, etc... but I am still not sure whether or not I should apply. I don't want to come off as obsessed on scores (trust me I wouldn't have spent two hours reading those blog posts if I was) but I just need more input. Thanks in advance!

I have As - A+s in every subject except Pre-AP Geometry (freshman year: 81, 89), Pre-AP Algebra II (91, 85), and Pre-AP PreCalculus (95, 90) and will be taking AP Calc AB next year. Also, in math based subjects such as Pre-AP Physics I have 95 and above both semesters. This is not because I am poor in math (you'll see later why) but because I lacked total confidence in my math abilities for a lot of time.

ACT composite score - 34

English - 36
Math - 36
Science - 32
English - 33

The rest of my application, I am confident is worth for MIT (show that I challenged myself, love discovery, was kind to others, and pursued my passions for math, science, computer science, engineering).

Please don't be annoyed by the scores question - I would really appreciate input on: Will these scores lower my chances? Should I still apply with confidence?
