I want to know if I should apply to the University of New Hampshire. I have to pay for the application myself and pay to send SATs so it comes out to $75.
I was already accepted to one of the Penn State campuses, not University Park, but they don't have any housing left already and I can't live off campus because I am not ready for that responsibility. I have also applied to the U of Delaware, U of Mass-Amherst, and SUNY Stony Brook. I just feel that I mite not get accepted anywhere else and have to live off campus which scares the s*** out of me.

I just want to make sure I get in somewhere, and I am scared I won't.

My Stats(just in case anyone cares)
Gpa - 83, school doesn't convert but its a 2.98.
SATs(what Im banking on) - Math 670, CR - 530, W - 480(8 essay), 1200/1600, 1680/2400
EC's - varsity soccer, club soccer, and partying
Rank - 152/295 - Bottom %50
Course Load - Hardest course load without any APs
New York
FA - applied but probably wont get any income 150k-160k

I’m not familiar with New York at all, but I would talk to my guidance counselor about solid foundation schools that you could get into, which are usually the in-state universities. You should apply to at least one school with a 70+% acceptance rate, perhaps even a couple.

I guess you didn’t notice that SATs are only considered at UNH. Rigor, Class Rank and GPA are most important. 98% of admits are in the top 1/2 of their class.

I think I have the rigour and at any other high school I would be in top half.

Why not apply to another SUNY? Perhaps one of the colleges, such as Old Westbury/Purchase/Oneonta/New Paltz/Oswego etc.

I want to major in Mechanical Engineering and the only SUNYs that have it are Stony Brook, Binghamton, and Buffalo. I won’t get into Binghamton and Buffalo is a s***hole, Stony Brook isn’t very pretty ether but at least it doesn’t get 12 inches of snow every other day.
