Should I ask for a rescore?

I just got my AP exam score back for AP Bio. It said I got 2 and I think it is a mistake. I passed the class with an A both semesters and I didn't think the test was hard. I think I should have gotten a higher score than a 2. I want to do a rescore. And plus, how come collegeboard doesn't rescore the frqs?

I’m guessing that the free response questions are harder to rescore, since you need an actual trained person to read through and grade it.

You can rescore if you think there was really a problem, but maybe the score is correct. It’s possible that your grade in the AP class was inflated. How did other people in your class do? Where did you stand in the class, compared to any kids that got higher scores?

Hey, I’m phoenix’s friend IRL. I encouraged her to check if she should rescore, but I wanted to see what you CCers would say first. Our grades were definitely not inflated in that class. A lot of kids are getting F’s, D’s, C’s in that class, mainly because they don’t read the book -rolls eyes-

Anyway, phoenix reads the book, she aces the tests, and she KNOWS the material. I don’t think there’s any way she could have gotten a 2. We’re trying to find out what other students received on the test.

There is one guy who earned D’s in the class and he received a 1 on the exam. There’s a girl who got A’s and she got a 4. That’s all I know so far.

Go for the re-score then.

Is it in any possible that she bubbled in wrong answers or did something dumb like that, causing her to get such a low grade?

Just as a point though, not that this applies here, I’ve seen people who “knew the material” do terribly in AP Bio because they don’t think well on their feet. Is she one of those people?

I would say go for the re-score. Even though it sounds to me like CB made a mistake, both of the scenarios above are plausible. Unless she was sure she did nothing like that.

Yeah, I think she should definitely rescore. I just got my results, and I got a 4. I don’t study nearly as much as she did in the class and I also pretty much skipped the first FRQ… so I’m thinking that there’s no way she got a 2.

Go for the re score then. I got similar grades in my class, and I got a 5. I reviewed intensely though for about 2 months beforehand.

I don’t think I did anything dumb, I was really confident when I finished my exam. So I’m going for rescore then.
