Should I attend?

I am in a very particular situation where I’m not sure what I want to do. I came into the year wanting to go to University in the United Kingdom - and was accepted to study BSc Economics and Finance at the University of Sussex. However, as a backup I applied to Boston University as they didn’t require SATs (literally the only reason I applied, I didn’t even look into the college until now).

On my way to take a test I checked my backup email (the one I applied to Universities with) and found that they had accepted me, which felt good as I was assured a spot in University in case Sussex fell completely through. After taking the test I asked what my adviser thought and she was worthless, but suggested I look into it. So I’ve, it appears Boston University is very good for what I wish to do however, it also comes at an extreme cost… 52,000 a year. I will get next to no aid as my parents make too much.

It does look to be a good University and I still do wish to attend University in the UK at least at some point. However, this could be a decent opportunity so I wanted to hear other peoples’ opinions on the matter.

Cliffs:
-wanted to study abroad
-applied to BU as a backup despite it being a better uni than the one I applied to abroad, arguably
-the cost looks to be gigantic and is pushing me away
-i wish to know if the cost is worth the price of admission.

No. Go to Sussex. See if you can study abroad for a semester or a summer program in the US.

Boston University does require SAT/ACT’s of all applicants, unless you were admitted to the College of Fine Arts.

@TomSrOfBoston He is a transfer applicant.

@r3j3ct3d1 You’re correct, I’m a transfer applicant
@TomSrOfBoston Not if you’re a transfer student, in which case they’re not required.
@intparent I can’t do a study abroad program once in the UK as that’s prohibited by the dept. of education.

In the future, if there is a question that needs clarifying, ask the OP to clarify. I’ve deleted some bickering posts that really warranted warnings per ToS, but I’m feeling generous.
