Should I be concerned...? And what should I do?

I had my application (and everything else) sent in to the school by early November. My application status has been complete for ages now.

But I still haven't heard anything back yet.

Is it weird that it's taking so long?
What should I do? The letter they sent out at the beginning of the year said not to call, but I'm concerned about it being this late. Should I send an e-mail?

When you say your app status has been complete, do you mean it says "A decision has been made"? That should be the final status.

Many people haven't heard yet, they accept the top applicants first and then move down the line. I would not contact them until the last week of March.

It would help if you defined the meaning of a 'complete' application status. Did you set up a myUW account?

It just said that they have all my stuff.

But it's said that since November.

Yours probably looks like mine, which looks like this:

Application Status
You have applied as a Freshman student to the University of Washington Seattle for autumn quarter 2008. The current status of your application is as follows:

We have received all materials required to review your application. Your application will remain in this status until decisions are finalized. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.

(The status of your application to the UW Seattle was last updated on December 31, 2007. )

Autumn quarter 2008 begins September 24, 2008.

Ah, then I see you are new to the process. That status you are is indeed the longest to wait for. The majority of applicants are in that status. Also, the majority of applicants have not even been notified. Do not be concerned at all.

World changer-
If you look on the UW website, it says that although a very small percentage of applicants get their decisions early, MOST applicants will find out in late March or early April--after all apps. have been reviewed.

Don't stress. If you are confident that the UW has all necessary materials, you can relax. Anyone who has already heard from the UDub is the EXCEPTION--not the rule. Good luck.

Thanks for the info... I've been worrying in the exact same way, I guess I'll lay off the obsessive status checking until next week perhaps. =/

Yup--good for you. I'd try to stay away for at least 2-3 weeks. It might not be that long...but it very well could be. I've seen admissions sent as late as second week of April--hopefully not this year, however!

My advice is check it only once a day until you see a status change. If you don't see a change, don't worry, you just have to wait another day. The answer will come.

I have twins and both applied in November; my daughter got in in December but as you can see from below my son's status has been this way for a LONG time...has a 3.6 GPA and 1850 SAT so we'll just have to wait and see. UW is his first choice but is happy with his second choice (which he already got into to) so we'll just wait and see.

For all those still waiting to hear...all the best for an acceptance letter to arrive soon! I know we are anxiously awaiting news here! (and still waiting to hear from honors for my daughter)

my status was like that from december 19th to february 28th.
but keep checking every day! And check the unofficial transcript too.
If it loads it means you're in.
I remember I had gotten so used to the transcript not loading when it actually loaded it didn't even register for like 30 seconds hahaha

Actually, I wouldn't keep checking every day. That only instills paranoia.
