I'm an incoming sophomore, and I'm pretty sure it's too late to register for any summer programs. Should I just do community service, or is there anything else I should be doing?

Well, try doing nothing.

If you get bored of doing nothing, at least you can say you accomplished nothing. That's a pretty big thing in itself.

Serioulsy.

Go to the beach with some hot girls or something. Maybe get a job so you can buy a sweet ride.

get laid .

would that really take the entire summer! ;)

Try doing non-doing. You might get enlightened and do something ... or nothing.

read and start studying for those admissions test! it's never too early...

Incoming sophie, eh? You don't need to do anything. If you do com. service, make sure you actually enjoy it and get excited about it.

Oh wait... YES! GET A JOB! Oh man!
1) You don't actually need to do anything this summer
2) MONEY
3) You can use this to embellish your application :P

Icicle, did you seriously study for AP exams summer of soph year? I mean, yes, I studied for the PSAT because in my district, they give an award to the smartest sophmores and give you a 40 dollar prep class that will give you more help than if you didn't make a high score on the PSAT. I don't think it actually helped (yes, I did win that 'smart sophmores' award, but please...) because I feel asleep in those PSAT classes EVERY SINGLE TIME. XD But hey, I'll pay attention this time around now that its important.

incoming sophomore.. may not be old enough for a job...
you should relax and enjoy a stressfree summer, because soon you'll become like the rest of us, scrambling for college. Maybe do some volunteer work and some reading though.

You just got out of 9th grade. Summer should be a time of relaxation and hanging out with friends. Don't stress yourself yet.
