Should I be filling the forms out already?

I was planning to wait to fill out the housing forms. Is it first come, first serve? Or a random lottery?

Random lottery. Take your time if you feel like it.

thanks a lot

whens the deadline

i heard from a reliable source that it was first come first serve to a certain point then after that it was random lottery...it wont hurt to send ur stuff in right now if u can. its not that long, takes maybe 2-3 minutes tops

Can you fill it out if you haven't been accepted yet?

mrrubberducky,

My local alumni rep whom I interviewed with also said that they put the forms up early to give ED kids first dibs but that this was completely "under the table" so to speak in that they won't come out and say anything like that.

I'm not sure if that's right or not...it could have changed more recently or maybe was never like that. I'd like to think we'll get something for our early commitment :)

but I havent decided if I want a double or single yet!! uyyy. rubber ducky, what r u gettin?

emilyanne,

I don't think applying for housing before you are accepted would be too smart of an idea. I guess they sort it all out first (although they may just assume that if you apply for housing you have gotten in and are planning to attend).

I know how the waiting is, but you only have 3 more weeks or so now :)

litagee, you may as well take your time deciding...again, I have no idea how true what I just said is (and considering everyone here who have been through the process say its a random lottery it's probably wrong).

I haven't decided myself yet either...

yea. Well, what does first come first serve matter if you dont get to choose the building you're in?

I guess for picking single/double/triple/quad/townhouse? It sounds like most people go for doubles since so many people here ended up with singles after requesting doubles. So maybe it would help if you decided on a double? I dunno.

I can't decide it suckksssss

Oh, and if you are worried about demand for singles being so great because people here recommend them, check out last year and the year before...people always recommend them. Not enough people check this site to make a difference ;)

And you have pleeeeenty of time to decide.

wow.. it is true that sooooo many people recommend them. I just dont want to be missing out on the college experience. But i'll prob end up gettin a single. Im too scared of having a freak rooommate

haha... very true
