I'm a junior, in pre-calc at my new school, and I have 97% in the class. At my old school, I had a C in Algebra 2 Honors. Would math I or II be best for me?

math II

most colleges really dont count the math I

but SAT II math is different than school math, more logic, not based off a certain topic such as pre-calc or trig or geometry - its a mix of everything up until probably trig/pre-calc

Math II only goes up to PreCalc, so I'd suggest taking it in May or June of this year.

Not necessary.

there is absolutely NO calculus on math II (ok, maybe 1 or 2 questions on limits, but you can leave those blank and still get 800), so you should take it BEFORE calculus or you'll forget how to do normal math

I took the SAT math level II after only pre-calculus and I got in the 700's. So I would definitely recommend math II. Many schools, especially top-tier ones, prefer it over math I.

thanks you guys i will definitely be taking math II

You know this, having extensively researched a number of the nation's top undergraduate institutions, yes?

Stanford alone, as far as I can tell, prefers Math II. CIT is the only top calibre college that demands Math II. Please don't disseminate false information.

To score well on Math II, one needs a strong foundation in Algebra II and Pre Calculus. Calculus is irrelevant.

Take Math 2. It's the only thing that will correlate better with PreCalc.

Math 2 isn't much harder than math 1 except that it covers more advanced material so if you've taken precal definitely take math 2.

Also the curve is awesome -6 = 800 :)
