Binghamton SOM has asked me to send it out I did already, is that a good thing or should I be worried? I am applying for Fall 2010 as a transfer student I have a 3.5 GPA, how are my chances of getting in? and do they really let you know if you got accepted online in the status checker? thanks for help

Unfortunately, there isn’t really a clear-cut answer for you. All it basically means is that they’d like to know more about your HS grades, but that can mean a variety of things.

Admissions decisions are sent out only via U.S. Mail by April 1st. Good luck!

I sent my mid term grade just to show them how well of a student i am, and i got in. they need to know that youre going to maintain good grades once they accept you

How many credits are you transferring with to SOM? I was transferring with about 12-15 from one school with a ~1.0 GPA and ~65 credits with a 3.95 so my overall comes out to ~3.55 and I haven’t been asked to send in midterms grades.

I wonder if a midterm grade report is an indication of being a strong candidate. I’m scared now.

Pinky7129- Did you just send it in because you wanted to or they asked you to send it? Are you a new student or a transfer? Do you think I should send it now just for the hell of it?

Jringo I just Got accepted into Binghamton, honestly you most likely aren’t strong enough of a candidate to get into Binghamton because you didn’t get asked for your midterm grades … sorry :(

Actually Bingfan, being asked for midterm grades isn’t an indicator of being “strong”. A rep told me that sometimes midterm grades are asked for applicants who the adcoms are “on the fence” about.

Maybe your right, maybe your wrong :P

@binghamtonfan123 where did you transfer from?

@narney NYU

If they ask for your mid year grades that is a good sign. THey are on the fence but they just want more evidence you can keep you grades up.

No need for this thread anymore as I got Accepted into Bing :P

**None of you are Admissions Counselors. Stop speculating, starting rumors, and outright insulting fellow applicants. **

i’m surprised you would transfer down to binghamton SOM after already having been at stern for at least a year… stern is a much better business school than binghamton.

Stern was good but honestly the location sucked…sure its close to wall street but way too much noise…and the people there weren’t that interesting…Binghamton Som seems better to me…btw narney what college are you at again?

nice try i’m in high school

Where are you applying too? are you a senior? Obv you are smart to be checking out college forums while still in High school…Good Luck out there

ill be transferring as a soph. thats what the admissions told me on the phone when i called. i voluntarily mailed it in. I wanted to up my chances

Binghamton told me to send in a Midterm report. I was wondering how soon i can get my decision after i send in my mid term grade. I sent it in yesterday.

Also I currently have 17 credits with a 3.88 gpa at queens college and am currently taking 16 credits and my mid term grades were 3 A’s and 2 B+'s. I’m applying to SOM. DO i have a good change to get in or no?

Binghamton didn’t ask for my midyear report, but I just had it sent in. Our 1st semester grades weren’t finalized until last week, and I found out I’m valedictorian :] but is it too late if they will be mailing out decisions today?
