Should I be taking again?

Hi, please I need some advice. I have taken the SAT 1 three times now and need some help:

1st Time (Junior Year):
720 Math
560 Verbal

2nd Time (Junior Year):
740 Math
620 Verbal

3rd Time (Senior Year):
760 Math
650 Critical Reading
590 Writing

My Math and Verbal sections have increased quite a lot, and I had very little prep. for the Writing section. I think that my Writing can follow a similar trend. What do u guys think??? Will colleges frown upon this??? Is it worth it retaking the test for a 4th time?

Bump, Bump, Bump........

Only if you think you can keep the trend in the math and verbal sections. If your scores in those sections go down, that will look bad. Also make sure you prepare thoroughly for Writing, since the fourth time should be the final one. Taking it five times would start to look desperate.

So, Colleges don't really mind applicants taking the SAT more than 3 times???

However, considering the fact that you have taken the new SAT only once, I wouldn't see as much of an issue for colleges...

Yeah, they'll make allowances for the problems caused by the introduction of the new SAT. They don't mind if you take it 4 times as long as there's a definite upward trend. You've already shown an upward trend in your scores, so I wouldn't worry too much about taking it a fourth time. Just make sure to get that writing score up.

No sweat taking the SAT again if you want to. Remember that lots of colleges will be ignoring the Writing scores for the first year or two, though. Where are you thinking of applying and how do your Math and CR scores compare to those school's score ranges?

Verbal +90.
Quantitative +40.

That's an increase, but not really "quite a lot."
Maybe enough for you to consider re-taking. The fact that you had "v. little prep" is probably a factor on the side of re-taking: assuming, of course, that you are planning on having "v. much prep" this go-around.

Colleges don't care about you doing multiple tests. I did four, and my score was the same on the last two, but they didn't mind.
