I have an F on my transcript from my freshman year of college. I'm not going to go into a big long excuse on why I got the grade I did, just that I was in a bad spot at the time but I've since transferred out of that college and into my current college.

A year after I initially took the course I failed, I retook it and got a B+, which was perfectly fine with me. The only think is that this was at my new college and it's not like it will replace my bad grade because it's from a different school. My main concern is that I'm planning on applying to a teacher certification program this coming year (I'm graduating in May 2014) and I'm not sure if the F will have an impact on my chances or not.

Currently I have a 3.5 gpa as I'm going into my senior year of college. The F was a gen ed course that is unrelated to my major.
