Should I be worried that...

... the other ED applicant at my school (there are only two of us) has been contacted for an interview and I haven't? I live in Beijing so I know there probably aren't that many alumni around here, but I do know there is a Columbia Alumni Association in Beijing. The other girl has already had her interview and I'm a little nervous that I haven't been contacted yet - it's unlikely that I will get an interview so late in the process right? I think interviewers send their reports back to Columbia late Nov - early December, if I'm not mistaken.

The interview reports are due back December 1st I think. That’s the extent of my knowledge on this stuff though :</p>

Thanks for your input Madshock. Does anyone know anything more specific on this subject?

TheBacchanal - i really encourage you to read the host of threads on here that deal with interviews, some that i have contributed to, and others that folks like c02 have spoken about.

interview assignments are random and have no bearing on your strength as a candidate. not all students will be interviewed. and not all students interviewed are admitted. not being interviewed will in no way prejudice your application.

in short: stop worrying.

No. Getting an interview does NOT mean that you’re a stronger applicant or more likely to get in. I, and many other Columbia students, were never granted interviews, yet still admitted early!

@ admissionsgeek: Okay then. I wasn’t really that worried, more just curious. Thanks.

@ pwoods: Good to know

I was actually looking forward to getting an interview though, I really love expressing my love for Columbia and I think the interviewer would have appreciated that :)
