<p>I mailed my Cornell app (paper) around the 18th of December. However, I have not yet recieved a confirmation email yet. Is this normal of the busy season? My other colleges are going much faster, which is what's worrying me.</p>
<p>I don't know if it's normal, but Cornell does seem slow to me.</p>
<p>Email questions take a lot longer than other schools (days). I'm also applying to Northwestern, Chicago, and a couple others; they answer questions much faster (like within an hour or two, or by the next morning for sure). Chicago, especially, is really efficient.</p>

<p>Cornell is currently receiving a very large volume of application materials.</p>
<p>We are devoting our efforts toward getting your applications processed and sent to selection committees for review. At this time, we are unable to respond to phone calls or email inquiries about application materials.</p>
<p>Additionally, the Self Service application materials list will be unavailable between January 1 and January 31.</p>
<p>We ask that you not send duplicate copies of your application materials. We will notify you in late January if we are missing materials from your application and will provide you with an opportunity to submit those materials.</p>
<p>Thank you for your patience and understanding.</p>

<p>Days for an e-mail reply? Is this during a busy season, like January or something? Cause last year, I got an email reply in less than 15 minutes after sending it. It totally surprised me, after that, I had always assumed that they were really fast about stuff like that.</p>
<p>Submitted 1/6, Downloaded 1/7, and got my confirmation today, I was surprised . . . I thought i'd have to wait a bit longer</p>

Yeah, this week and last. Obviously they are having some major problems, as NJCCstudent's post reveals. I guess they aren't even answering the phones! I wonder if they are going to junk all the emails or answer later?</p>
<p>Does this happen every year at this time?</p>
<p>do you get the PIN number they asked for by email? And if so how soon after you submit Part I?</p>
