Should I bother applying to Vanderbilt?

Hey, did I trick you? Did you think this was a "chances" post? haha, well, it's (thankfully) not.

Okay, so, I'll be honest. I've been debating about applying to Vanderbilt, but was not planning to until some CCers encouraged me.

I want to apply because it is in the South (like Emory), but, unlike Emory, it has a BME major.

However, I have a problem. I am on winter break right now and my college counseling office is not sending stuff over break and Vanderbilt's deadline is January 3!

Do you guys think I should just forget about applying to Vanderbilt, or do you think I should contact my GC and/or Vandy admissions?

I don't really know what to do!

Wado much!

Well, if your confident that you will get into one of your other choices, then don't bug your counselor. If you feel like there is a good chance that you wont make it on any of your other choices, then it might be worth the trouble.

dont do it unless you actually want to go there. remember, thousands of ppl get rejected who want to go there. you dont want to take their spot if its not a serious choice. if you do apply, best of luck.

Thanks, I am going to apply, I worked something out with my GC. But please don't hate me if I get in! I genuinely have been looking at Vandy for more than a year now.

Colleges understand if GC materials come in late. After all, most of the top schools' deadlines hit during a time period in which GCs aren't at work.
