Hey-I can't decide if I should even bother applying to Tufts RD.

ACT: 33E 28M 35R 32S 30Comp
Environmental AP-4
US History-4

Currently Top 14% at Competitive Suburban Public School..4.07 GPA
Senior Year-European History AP, 5 French Honors, Biology AP, Statistics AP, 4 English Literature AP...Probably getting 2-3 Bs 1st semester, so class rank might even go down a litte.

ECs are average for Tufts...Cross Country, Choir, 10Hr/WK Job, Newspaper, Church Mission Trips/Youth Group, Foreign Exchange, assorted Clubs...

No National Awards, Only In School Dept. Awards Etc...

Also, there are a lot of kids applying from my high school who have higher class rank/better ECs/better awards.

I like Tufts a lot, but I'm applying to some other schools that I like also, so I am wondering if my chances of getting in are so low that I might as well focus on other applications.

Applications due Jan 1 so any advice you have would be helpful ASAP

That's the way to wait until crunch time! If you already have a filled-out common application, I'd go ahead and send in the suppliment now, and the commonapp as soon as you can. In the next week, scrounge and write the supplimental essay if you have any life left in you. I think that you have a decent shot at getting accepted. Nothing stands out as to why you wouldn't get in, but make sure your app has a lot that stands out that would help you. Differentiate yourself from those other kids in your school. Good luck!

Remember that while the supplementary app (Part 1 of the application on Tufts' website, which will literally take you 15 minutes max as it has only super-basic questions) is due Jan 1 or 2 (I forget which), the common application part of the app is not due at Tufts until Jan 10. You can attach both your supplimental essay and your common app essay to your common app so this gives you 10 more days to work on those essays.
