I'm planning on going to UCLA for the summer because its close to home before I join Berkeley as a freshman in the fall. Is it worth taking classes at UCLA to prepare for chem? My high school's chemistry sucked, so I'm extremely clueless on the subject. Thinking of Chem 20A if anyone is familiar with that.

If you’re planning to do it at UCLA, and take it again at Berkeley, then sure why not. Although, I don’t believe you would really have to take it again at Berkeley and you can just move along with your major requirements if you get it done there. But if you really want to, you could take it again. Any preparation is wise though just in general. The more prepared you are, the better you’ll do at Berkeley and you can be at the top. For instance, if you’re not good at reading/writing english, no one cares once you’re here. You’re competing with people who have spoken and written in english since they were 2. So if you had done as much as you could to excel at it, you would do well here. The more time you put in, the better you will do.
