At the beginning of the year, I told myself I'd self study for the AP world History, AP US Gov, and AP Comp Gov exams, because they are very relevant to one of the majors I'm considering and go along with my ECs. Also, these are classes my school does not offer. But when I looked up the AP credit policy on the schools I plan on applying to, they have a cap of three ap tests that can be used for credits and I'm already enrolled in four AP classes which they would accept exam credit for. I mean I'm quite passionate about World History and Government already, so I wouldn't mind taking the time to study them anyway, but would it even be worth it to shell out the money to take the AP exams for them?

I’ll take the AP exams of the classes I don’t want to take again in college. If you’re passionate about something, wait for college instead of self-studying for ap exams.

I don’t think any studying is required to get a 5 on the AP World exam, so you might want to take that one because it’s ludicrously easy. The subject test is also super easy and well curved though, so if any of your schools need subject tests, spending the money on that instead of the AP exam might be well worth it.

If you’re completely sure about the schools you’re applying too, then the number of your APs should be fine, and I would say don’t take the other three exams. But if you think you might expand your search, having a fifth exam might be good.

What year are you? If you’re a junior, are you going to take more APs as a senior?

@Millancad-I’m a junior. I’m gonna be taking 4-5 classes senior year and I probably won’t end up taking the exams for all of them because
I’ll be beyond my limit Thanks for the tip though, I’ll consider taking the world sat now :)
