Should I bother taking subject tests?

I really don’t know whether or not to take the SAT subject tests. I’m a junior in HS and atm I only have a few colleges that I definitely plan to apply to - UF, USF, FSU - so it’s not like I’m aiming for a prestigious private school or any other place that requires SAT subject tests. And trying to schedule studying for + taking them (alongside studying for and re-taking the normal SAT) is really stressing me out

Should I take them just to be safe, in case I end up needing them, or is it not worth it considering I’m most likely staying in Florida and/or going to a public school?

If the colleges you’re applying to don’t need them, then don’t take them. If they recommend it, then take 2 or at the most.

If you excel in a certain subject and want to showcase your talents, then go for it. I am taking the SAT Biology E/M test, because I want to 1.) major in biology and 2.) want to showcase my knowledge of it. If it relates to your major (Ex: US History, Chemistry, etc.) then I say go for it. My school dean told me colleges like to see people take them because it shows an extra step of initiative, even if you don’t get a perfect or extremely high score they will still help you. They’re not necessary though, so if you don’t want to take them don’t, its not a big deal. Best of luck to you!
