So I heard that Yale doesn't offer credit for qualifying AP exam scores, so is it even worth it for me to send them? I have a 4 in Euro History, 4 in US History, 5 in Calc BC, and a 4 on the Calc AB subscore. I'm taking Psych, English Lit, and US Governemnt this year (can't get out of them due to fees). I'm not very confident about Psych or Gov because I took the classes last semester. Will a bad score on either of those exams have negative consequences? I'm especially concerned about Gov because I'm planning to major in political science.

I heard from someone that you can get all but $16 of your test fee back if you decide not to take an exam. Worth looking into. Yale allows you to skip certain intro classes with 5’s on certain tests, but since you don’t have any 5’s (at least from last year), you might wait until you get your scores from this year and if you get 5’s on any of the qualifying tests you can send all your scores in. Read the AP test section on the Yale web site.

if they’re 5’s, DEFINITELY! i’ve been told by an admission dean that subject tests and AP tests are sometimes weighted even more than the actual SAT 1 when looking at an applicant because those tests actually serve as true college success predictors when evaluating the applicant with his intended major.
(*hint: those were the words of the harvard dean of admissions)

^^The OP has matriculated and is in the middle of their first semester, so the question is moot.
