Should I bother?

Long story short–I go to a pretty competitive Jesuit high school (one of the best in the state) and I am somewhere in the the top 15-20% of my class, but I’m not really sure because my school doesn’t rank. I would say that my application is pretty solid outside of that, pretty much everything Georgetown is looking for. Lots of service, high test scores, great essays, and I am heavily invested in a few extra curriculars. However, I feel like my GPA is weighing me down, specifically the fact that I am not in the top 10%, and there are a lot of people in my school who have better GPAs that are applying with similar resumés. The only thing that distinguishes me from the other people from my school that are applying is that I am non-white. Should I even bother?

Just for context, my school sends 3-4 kids to Georgetown every year.

Well, 7% of the last entering class were from the top 11% to the top 25% of their graduating HS class and, evidently, Georgetown knows your secondary school very well. See https://georgetown.app.box.com/s/3azkfk30zxabxqccj0osp0lrhhy2p1s9

What differentiates you from the other applicants and how do you uniquely fit into their program? Look at them with a critical eye and see what really fits your needs. Is it just their reputation or are there some unusual university qualities which you feel uniquely match your educational goals?

It is fine to have a couple if reaches. Grown doesn’t seem unreasonable.
