Hi, I recently got a job and since I've gotten lot of hours, I've gotten a decent amount of cash. I was at a friend's house and loved playing 2k14 and FIFA even though I was trash at the game. I've never owned a gaming system, and I have had no birthday gifts ever(family is too poor).Should I buy an Xbox One? My siblings would love it, and we would finally have a reason not to go to the basketball court everyday in the summer(I like playing basketball, its just a VERY sketchy place and in no way shape or form good for any child).I am also the valedictorian of my school, and I don't want to mess up my academics.Do you think Its a good investment?Would it infringe on my study time?

It’s fine. Have fun. Yes it will infringe a bit upon
Your work time, that’s the point but someone as driven as you should be able to manage it so it won’t hurt you

The Xbox One is a great system. You’ll love it.
But like anything, use it in moderation!
How much time do you spend on Netflix, YouTube, watching TV, or recreational reading? You could easily divert the time you spend on that to your Xbox.

Yeah, the Xbox 1 is a fine pick-up, just make sure you have everything else in order. If you find yourself able to work hard and finish up at a reasonable time, the xbox won’t be a problem

no get PS4… Xbox 1 sux and the Kinect is a pain

PS4 is better

Wii U has really great multiplayer games, such as Mario Kart and Nintendoland.

^ Not to mention SSB4!!!

Hype is real

Or you could get a 3DS + Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire!!!

My childhood is returning to me

I think you should! Xbox One has a good game lineup for next year, what with all the Halo games releasing. I have a PS4 myself, but I wouldn’t mind adding an XBOne to my collection. ;)

@Yakisoba I CAN’T WAIT FOR OR/AS TO RELEASE

Megagross OP

Hoping for mega altaria or mega walrein

Actually, I’ll second a Nintendo 3DS. Better games, better compatibility with a busy life. However, if you really want to be nice to your family, I’d recommend just playing PC games, which are usually cheaper and more fun

@Yakisoba I used to play melee competitively, haha. I started playing SSB64 when I was five and still play it. Needless to say, I’m really excited about SSB4 on the 3DS and beating the crap out of anyone online who is in my way.

@Smrtical
Isn’t 3DS online play really bad?

@Apollo11 I don’t know since the game isn’t out…

but…

I mean, Pokemon X and Y. Try to tell me barely anyone is online.

@Smrtical

They’d have to also be in SC, which isn’t quite Pokemon central

@Apollo11 I don’t follow. I’m pretty sure online play is all around the world.

I’d personally go with the PS4 since it’s $100 cheaper, but you can’t go wrong with the Xbox.

Not if you manage your time well and set your priorities straight (academics come first, as you said). Get all your homework and studying done as soon as you get home, then you’re free to play as long as you want.

xbox worth the cost for halo alone. ugh, the intro of bungie in halo 1-3 still gives me goosebumps.

As someone who’s bought both the Xbox consoles, I’d say you should buy an Xbox One.

I was looking at prices at other stores and saw that companies still make games for the xbox 360.It is much cheaper, and the titles they have seem fine. Do you recommend buying this?
