Should I call schools to let them know that my mom never attended high school?

The lowest level of education that's available on the Common App is "high school graduate." I selected it for both my parents, but now I'm wondering if it might help my chances if colleges know my mom never actually attended. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Rather than wonder if it would be an advantage for admission I would be more concerned with wanting to present myself honestly in completing the commmon app.So then the question is why do you want to notify them. That’s what I would focus on. I’d check with your guidance counselor though. Good luck!

I’m not sure how I’d come off as dishonest to them. After all, the only reason why I couldn’t report the true education level was because it wasn’t an option on the Common App- which, to be honest, surprised me. Aren’t there other students out there whose parents might not even have attended high school?
