hey, so...storytime! i did the calc bc test last year and thought i did fine on the MC, but when i got to the FR, i completely and totally bombed it!!! i swear!!! i completed ONE out of the SIX questions in its entirety. I BS'd parts B and C on a couple of the questions and left two COMPLETELY blank. I came out thinking i had gotten a one and absolutely failed. but i got a five when i got my scores back in july!!! i have no idea how that happened.

i think it's roughly 60% correct and above for 4-5 range, so it is definitely possible to bomb the FR and still get a five!

^ i'm pretty sure this needs a disclaimer of results atypical because there is no way 99.99% of people could bomb the FR and get a 5. You would only be able to do this if you pretty much got a perfect on the MC and atleast 25% of the FR. It also seems suspicious that you could do ok on the MC and then have no clue on the FR raises eyebrow.

Thanks for the optimistic replies. I hope I get the same luck too.

Don't cancel. There is no point. You can pick and choose the scores that colleges see, so even if you get a 1 (you probably won't) you can always block it from colleges.

43% of the BC population gets 5's, because 43% of the BC population is about as good at BC calculus as 20% of the population that takes the AB exam is at AB calculus.

It's not that the curve is more generous, but that a larger percentage of high-performing students take the test.
