Should I cancel my AP Physics B score?

I took Accelerated Physics this year as a junior. I was one of seven kids to take the Physics B test. I know I did not do well, and left 75% of the FRQ blank. I do not believe I have any chance of passing, and expect to receive no higher than a 2. I told people I planned on canceling the score, but they told me I should not do so, and no harm would come from failing and not canceling my score.

So I ask you if it would be in my best interest to cancel a test I am 99% sure I failed. Thank you in advance.

since you didn't take ap physics, if you don't report your score, colleges will never know you took the test

So you're saying I'd be doing no harm in not canceling my score?

correct.

with how hard the test was this year, you never know how much the curve may be.

no point in saving college board from doing the work to score your exam (you already gave them your $83)

If you had taken the AP class at school, I would say dont cancel it. But because you KNOW that it will be a failing grade and you didnt take the class, I would cancel if I were you. The only reason it is bad to cancel is because colleges dont like to see that you chose not to take test at the end of the AP class, which shows that you are not very driven I guess. Diesel is right that they will have no problem getting a score on that test because they will not have expected you to take it.

Well, I don't know about physics, but on Calc BC you can leave 4 of 6 FRQs blank and still get a 5. And, if you leave them all blank and ace the MC, you will get a 4.

i dont think you should cancel your score. last year i took AP stats and I felt the same thing as you do. however i decided not to cancel my score b/c there's no point of doing so. and guess what, i ended up getting a 3, which was kinda unexpected. even if i failed stats, i dont think it would make my college app look bad b/c it proved that i did take advantage of educational opportunities that i had.
