Hi everyone,

I just took the Dec 2013 SAT. I know I did really well on the CR/W sections, but I botched the Math pretty bad. Its not even because I didn't know how to do the questions ,but rather, I sped through the test, and didn't read them properly. For example, I put 1/9 instead of 1/27 because I did (1/3)^3 = 1/9 ...stupid careless errors. For me, Math should be my strong suit..based on my coursework and extracurriculars. I'm thinking its probably in this type of situation that it makes sense to cancel my SAT scores? Especially if I'm pretty confident that I can do well on CR/W again...... what do you all think?

Thanks!

You already paid, might as well get a score. You can take it again anyways.

I was in a very similar situation; Like you, I didnt performed at my best in this month SAT (it was my first one) so I was thinking about canceling my scores. However I decided not to cancel because I just wont send them and instead registered for the upcoming SAT in January 25. In my case things are little trickier because Im a high school senior applying to universities this winter and most of them have deadlines before the SAT’s in January!!

My advice for you will be to sign up for the upcoming test and OWN it son!
I also encourage you to aim for any score you want because with hard work and dedication, everything is possible.

I would say don’t cancel them. It’s a bit of a waste of money and a Saturday morning of you do, isn’t it? You might be surprised at what you get anyway!

If you don’t get what you want, you can always retake and super score.
