Should I cancel my SAT scores?

Hi everyone, I have taken both the December and May 5 SAT test.

On the December one, which was my first time, I got a score of 2260:
740 Math
790 Critical Reading
730 Writing

I retook the test yesterday because I wanted to get the 800 in Math. I believe I will get it (hopefully), since the math was so easy, but I feel that I did not do as well as before on Critical Reading. I'm not sure about writing though; my essay was great but focused on one specific aspect of the topic so I don't know if that will harm my score.

Anyway I need some advice. I would appreciate it if you would let me know what you think.
PS: Do colleges take the writing section into consideration when comparing scores? If I wanted to apply for engineering...

I recommend that you stick with the scores. There really is no point in canceling them, since you think you did better on what you wanted to. Most colleges, or at least the top ones, do take the writing section into consideration, although with not as great a weight. Cornell is the only upper-end college I know of that does not take it into consideration whatsoever.

Thanks for the reply.
It’s true that I have achieved my goal. However, I do not want to have a lower total score. Will that affect my college application?
It seems to me now that my goal of getting an 800 on Math was narrow sighted and I should have also focused on maintaining my score in CR. The CR really was harder than last time, but that’s not the only reason that I don’t feel that I did as well as last time.
