I am a junior in high school. I want to get into Ivy Leagues or other prominent great colleges. I heard that the scores they want are pretty high. I just took my first SAT Subject Tests today (Math 1, Math 2, and Biology E) and I was wondering whether I should cancel them?
I wasn't really prepared but took the 3 SAT Subject Tests today. I think I may get around the average score for each SAT Subject Tests I took today. But maybe higher for Math 2...
Should I cancel it? Or should i keep my scores? I plan on taking SAT in my senior year October so I can't take SAT Subject Tests during October, but maybe November of my senior year (would that be too late by then?)
HELP!!! In a major CONFLICT!! T_T :(

Oh and by the way here are the average scores for the 3 subject tests i took:
Math 1: 580-590 (i think i maybe got around there or a little higher)
Math 2: 655-665 (maybe around here too but higher by some points like maybe high 600s or low 700s-750s or just a tad higher)
Biology E: 590-600 (maybe around here or a little higher)
I think I should take the SAT subject tests again in November of my senior year or is it too late?

anything below 620 for ivy is not great. when you send your scores, they see all of them so… its bad if you have 500somwthing on any subject test for ivies. november will be too late if you are doing early action

Unless you already signed up to send the scores off, there’s no reason to cancel them. You can use “score choice” when you order score reports which allows you to pick and choose which SATII scores you’d like to send.

Not sure if you can still do this since they went to score choice, but I bet you can. When my daugther came out of her World History Sat II test a couple of years ago, she was freaked out and sure that she had done badly. We had signed up to have the scores sent to several colleges. Since she was so worried, we went out and changed it so the scores would not be sent out. But that did not “cancel” the results. She ended up with a 740 (the freakout was unjustified, for sure). So we had to pay later to go ahead and send those to some of the colleges after all.

Given your story, I think if you could stop them from going to the colleges, you should. Those do not sound like Ivy league scores. Although you plan to retest in the fall, you also should spend some time making sure you have a solid list of safety and match schools that you would be happy to attend and can afford. Use something like the Fiske Guide to find some more colleges besides the top ranked ones that are strong in your area of interest.

I agree fully with intparent’s advice.

BTW, it makes no sense to take both Math I and Math II. If you retake, just take Math II. (It has a much kinder curve.) Also, ilikepizza is seriously off the mark: 620 is NOT any Ivy-level score. Try adding 100 pts to that.
