I took Math IC this morning. I felt really confident on everything, and I probably didn't miss more than 1 or 2 in the entire first 45 questions.

I ran out of time to do the last 5, so I guessed on all of them (because technically you should get 1 of those 5 right, and the other 4 will be wrong. It's better than omitting because there's a probable chance that I could get even 2 of the 5 that I guessed on correct).

Anyways, assuming that I got all of those 5 that I guessed on wrong, and assuming that I got 2 wrong in the rest of the test, what should I do? Should I wait and see my score, and then retake if it's bad? Or should I immediately cancel it altogether so it doesn't appear on my transcript? I am currently competitive for any school I want, and I plan on going to an Ivy league or MIT/Duke etc.

This was my first SAT II. I will be taking Biology M, Math IIC, and USHistory next year, and I think I'll do outstanding on all of them because the material will be fresh in my mind. Those will be the SAT II's that I submit to colleges.

With the fact that I want to go to a top 10 school in mind, will a 700 or even a 650 in Math IC hurt my chances? I don't plan on submitting this score to any colleges because I'll be taking Math IIC next year and that test is a breeze.

cancel. Math 1c is not accepted by many schools because alot of the concepts that come pu on math 1c come up on the SAT 1 math portion. Most schools strongly recommend Math 2c, so ur math 1c score is really irrelevant.

It's kind of silly to take an SAT II Math before learning pre-calculus.

Cancel and then just take IIC. It's not that top colleges won't accept IC, it's just that IIC looks a lot better since it's an advanced form of IC (just like AP classes look better than regular ones).

IC is useless. You have to also probably get everything right for an 800 and i think getting more than 4 wrong puts you behind 700 for IC. In IIC, although it depends, usually you could get like 5 wrong and still get an 800.

I took world this morning and it was easy. If you took honors or ap world, you should take this too. Or you should just take IIC, USH, and Bio which is what I am going to take during my junior year.

Wow, this thread should have started a little earlier. My son took the mathI this morning and has an A avg in pre calc. He was advised to do so by his GC. Now after reading some of the posts, I'm wondering if he should have taken the IIC. He's a junior, and at this juncture, is looking to go into the humanities. Will the fact that he took the lesser of the two impact him if he doesn't ace it?

Well, I completely disagree. Not one of my schools require Math IIC. Only one school even requires Math I. And I've been advised against cancelling unless something goes HORRIBLY wrong.

Sidenote: peachy - Isn't BC only two extra chapters. In my school, you pick one or the other.

madville, if he completed pre-calc, he should have definitely gone for IIC. I should have done IIC today, but I had to go to saturday korean school for final exam and decided i should take in october or something.
