should i cancel my scores?

so i got an 800 in bio M in May... and decided to take lit & math level II today (so i can have 3 sat ii scores). i think i did pretty well on the lit (finished early, no omits, confident in my answers) but then i proceeded to bomb the math! i omitted 10 and i was really shaky on the other questions... just completely lost my head halfway through. honestly i probably got around a 630? and the whole point of a subject test is to show one's "mastery," right... so here's my dilemma: should i cancel today's lit & math tests & retake them in october? or not cancel, see what scores i get, and retake math in october? is lit usually this easy or will it be difficult to get another 800ish score if i were to retake it?

thanks for any feedback

I'm debating whether to cancel my Bio M test.
But all my friends said to wait 2 days (of course all of them are positive they got 800 which no doubt they did...)

I suggest waiting and seeing the discussions on CC, get a gist of the curve and then cancel.
That's my plant T>T

Do I mind if I ask you how many questions u got wrong (if at all...) and the month u took it?

How much does one bad score really hurt you, especially if you retake it? Honestly, I'd wait and see what you get. It's not worth paying a fee to not see your scores.

Judging from discussions, the Math II was hard for a lot of people. I've been thinking about the same thing, but in place of Literature I have Chem. I've basically decided that I'll wait for my scores since I think I did really well and Chem, and if I wait to do it next year, my scores in it will probably go down in it (Math I'm sure I won't need to do much more preparation for again) If I do really badly in Math, I'll retake it. Otherwise, I'll get over my perfectionist tendencies. I'd say leave your tests be since you think you did well in Literature, and if Math II is really below your target, take it again separately.

Hope for a good curve :-)

i have no idea how many questions i got wrong on the may bio test... probably not more than a couple but i did not omit any so who knows?

it appears that most people on these boards omitted only a "few" questions and got 0 wrong on the oh-so-easy math II - so im guessing the curve will not be friendly to my 1/5 blank test.

i'm just frustrated because i'm sure i could do well on the math II if i actually studied the next time around... and surely my literature score wouldn't go down if i were to retake it in october? the only problem is that i want to retake the SATs next year as well... and 2 more standardized test saturdays in fall sounds horrible...! also, if take the november regular SATs, can i submit those scores to an ED application? my SAT I score is fine but im positive i could improve my CR score vastly... why don't they offer test dates over the summer? ugh!

OP: Definitely don't cancel. Get the score, retake if necessary. Colleges won't care if you screwed up the first time, as long as you do well the second time. What if you WERE faced with a harder Literature test the next time? You'd regret it. Plus, won't you always wonder what you would have gotten...?

i didn't cancel and i got a 790 lit and a 740 math... how did that happen?! i guess the curve is just freakin' insane.

Congrats, I heard the Math 2 curve is very generous, idk about Literature (English sucks :p)

great job

The Math II curve is great.
