Should I Cancel?

Hi all,

I got home from taking the Oct. SAT about an hour and a half ago, and I'm considering cancelling my scores. I feel really bad about how I did -- my goal is 2300+, but I don't think I even broke 2000 this time. :( (I've done well enough on 5+ practice tests that 2300 was a reasonable expectation.)

Should I cancel? I'm worried about colleges seeing a low score.

But you may simply chose not to send them. Moreover, they will take the higher score for the sections from all the test you’ve done. Don’t cancel them.

Colleges actually understand that people will have good days and bad days. Unless your score was sooooo bad that they would think you guessed every question for funsies, you should cancel

Edit; shouldn’t cancel*

So, in the interest of finishing the story for anyone who might stumble across this thread in the future, here’s what happened:

I got a 2380 (800M, 800CR, 780W).

I was so surprised that I fell out of my chair when I checked – and then spent five minutes jumping around my room and screaming. (This all happened circa 4:30 a.m., mind you.)

I don’t even know what to say except that I went to school today (yesterday now that’s it’s past midnight where I live) and basically kissed my counselor’s feet for talking me out of canceling. Apparently mine is the highest score recorded in my school’s history, at least as far back as my counselor can remember, which is really humbling – and awesome.

Anyways, my advice to anyone reading this who is in the same situation as I was is this: Don’t cancel.

SAT scores are like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re gonna get.

Wow tiger15! Wish such days will come for me too. This time, the scores weren’t up to my expectations :(

I’m sure you’ll get there! Don’t despair.

Tiger, use this experience to improve your confidence!

@tiger15 : I hope so :)
