Should I change my major? (applicant applying)

I put Bioengineering as my first choice and Biology as my second. Would it be advantageous to switch them around? I heard the engineering school is tough to get admission into.

it is tough to get in. go try biochem

Thanks for the protip.

Unless you really want to get in Engineering and have the stats for it (really high math/science test scores and grades), then you should switch. If you just want to be at UCLA, it would be much easier to get in through Bio/biochem.

it’s hard to tell u what to do without looking at your stats, but if you even remotely want to do engineering, i would try to stay with engineering
its extremely difficult to transfer into the engineering school once you start (as in, my engineer friends would not have been able to transfer from l&s to engineering if they started in l&s taking the same classes). i think you need a 3.5 minimum with at least 2 science/math classes a quarter…
