Should I change my major to DUS on application?

Im a senior in high school, I submitted my application two weeks ago and was wondering if changing my major to undecided would be allowed or if it will affect my admission chances in anyway. I want to go into engineering but I feel like Im not competitive enough for direct admission and also Im not 100% sure I want to do engineering. My SAT score is 1710 (1130 CR+Math), my weighted gpa is 4.161(out of 5), and unweighted is 3.56 (out of 4.0), Im top 35% in my class (my class is really small, so its hard to move up), I have gotten a lot of academic awards from the school, and have done volunteering. I was also invited to NHS. what should I do?

If I do want to change it, should I call them? what do I say?

You can still change to DUS if you haven’t gotten your decision. I’d call and just tell them you’d like to change your major on your application because you aren’t sure engineering is what you want to do any longer.

would it postpone my decision in anyway?

@Ajpat123 no not at all. I actually changed mine to dus today and the admissions lady said that it wouldnt affect the time line for my decision. she said that all decisions are picked at random (meaning someone with low stats may get their results before a higher applicant) and that as long as i wasnt accepted yet that i should be fine.

I changed mine to DUS today too, what a coincidence.
