I was admitted to:
GW
NYU
UWisconsin - Madison
UC- Santa Barbara
UMinnesota - Twin Cities

I'm waiting for a response from UMichigan - Anna Arbor (kind of late because my previous high school LOST my transcript... but I spoke with the admissions people and sorted it out) and I hope to get in.

But from the list, which school should I choose if I want to dual major in IR and political science?

If UMich were on the list, which school should I choose then?

I'm really confused because my friends got into GW as well and its close to my sister... And GW has a top class International Relations program...Yet, my brother goes to UMich and I hear UMich has one of the best poli sci programs. not to mention that I have a few friends there as well... Help!!

Only you can truly make that decison, narrow your choices to 3-- visit the schools research ( which you should’ve done before you applied actually) and decide.

I would narrow it down to GWU, UMich & NYU (your top 3).
Compare programs, tuition/cost of attendance, internship opportunities, and social atmosphere. Then visit each individual school.

It honestly doesn’t get much better than GW for those majoring in IA/PoliSci, which many students do here. The internship and career opportunities are unparalleled.
However, like the others said, it’s going to come down to a critical comparison of schools. Visits are really important too, because that’s what can make you fall in love with a university or cross it off of your list immediately.

I spent the summer with my brother at UMich and I loved the campus. I grew up around DC and I visited the campus last year. It was quite nice. I got into NYU’s liberal studies program so I spend two years in Paris and two years in NYC. I love NYC but I honestly never liked Europe.

Visiting the universities is kind of out of the question as I live in Kazakhstan right now… Tuition is not a problem either. The internships really caught my attention at GW though, so I think I might end up there. Gah! The decision is so tough…
