UMD’s engineering program is one of the highest ranked in the nation for state flagship universities; Temple’s program, on the other hand, is average-tier.
I’m confused with what to pick, since I’ve heard that more rigorous schools cover more material in a shorter period of time, but more rigorous schools also have better resources.
Is price an issue? What’s the price difference between the two.
What are your stats?
Are both affordable without a parents ’ Loan? Without any Loan?
@MYOS1634 720 SAT math, 690 SAT reading, 3.8 unweighted GPA, AP credit for 4 classes, graduated in top 10% of classes; also got full-tuition merit scholarship to Temple, but no scholarship to UMD
If you got a full tuition scholarship at Temple, you’re in the Honors College and Honors housing. It’s too good to pass up - you’ll get a morbid advantages from that.
Definitely go to Temple over UMD for that. Save your money for grad school.
