I've been accepted into Earl Warren for the class of 2017 as a comp sci major(freshman). I'm out of state. My college choices have come down to UCSD and Rose-Hulman Institute of technology (Where I've been offered 18k/year). I really love San diego and I know UCSD is a great school but I am really unsure of which one I should pick.

If anyone could give me any inputs that'd be great :)

i would choose Rose-Hulman, it’s the better bang for your buck. Out of state, you will be paying aroudn 55K at UCSD which is not worth it. Go to UCSD for grad school when it will be worth the money.

Ah, I forgot to mention, I will be instate from sophomore year.

I would transfer after junior year. Honestly undergrad doesn’t matter.

hey guys, so I also have a decision to make and I was hoping to get some of your feedback. I don’t know what to choose between UCSD and Brandeis university for a major in economics. What’s your advice? thanks

^^^Bonesaw- what will qualify you for in-state soph. year- would your parents be moving here your freshman year?

Yeah, they’ll be moving back early in the summer so I think that should make me in-state.

@ Groovymaster. It all depends on where you’re from. If you’re from CA go to UCSD. If you’re from MA, go to Brandeis. Really not worth paying all the extra money for out of state.

@ Bonesaw500. I would do some number crunching to see what the better deal would be. From the looks of it Rose-Hulman is by far the better deal, but then again, I don’t know how much their tuition is. Total for UCSD would be something like $140,000 for 4 years not counting financial aid and assuming you pay in state tuition starting sophomore year.
