Should I consider schools like FAU, FIU, FGCU, or even U of M?

I got accepted to USF and I live about an hour away from the main campus, so if I go there I would have to commute. (I plan to go to USF in SP first which is a lot closer). I kind of want to go far away though and I am planning to apply to UCF and FSU this break, but if I don't get accepted are school like FAU, FIU, FGCU worth considering? USF is more "you-know" than all three of them. If I got accepted to USF then I would surely by no doubt, get into these other schools. But is it worth going to these schools just to be far away as opposed to USF?

Thanks.

I know that FIU and FAU are mostly commuter schools, so you might be left out. Don’t know much about FGCU. USF is a good school, though, so reconsider your options.

What about UCF? I know it has a fairly large commuter population, but also many students who live in the dorms.

Well, I don’t think I mind the commuting. That is not the problem. I just want to GO OUT of my house lol…somewhere distant? lol But is it worth it, if going to schools that are a lot less prestigious than USF like FAU, FIU, FGCU just to be FAR AWAY? Is it worth the financial costs too? That is if I do not get accepted to UCF or FSU. But even if I do get accepted to UCF or FSU is it even worth the costs to go over and live in the dorms, when USF is right here and I could save money and go from home?

Thanks

Well I definitely think FAU and FIU are always worth considering. Yeah FAU is a commuter school but it also recently built new dorms to try and become more residentials, and FIU is more residential and is in Miami, so you’ll always have something to do. I personally just don’t like FGCU though lol
