Would he have a shot at an ivy like Cornell? Because as much as we like to look down on people, these are amazing stats.

I don’t think HYPSM is really worth applying to unless you really * really * want to go to one of those schools because you can’t get in if you don’t apply.
I think schools like Cornell and UPenn and Vanderbilt could be good reaches which you have somewhat of a shot of getting into
try for some UCs and some of the good state schools.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks guys! I know I don’t have stellar test scores or amazing ECs, but I am dedicated to applying to Stanford and Princeton. The SAT I score was my first time with no study but one practice test. I have been studying Passage-Based questions and I’ve been getting most right  CR is guaranteed to be higher in October, as well as M and W. My 8 essay will change to a 10+, hopefully, because I am also studying for that.

I just hope that through my essays and recommendations, Stanford will see that I am a great fit for their school, and that their school is the perfect fit for me. I honestly haven’t come across a school that I would be a better fit.

I want to attend a somewhat selective school where most financial need is met, and where political science/international affairs/national security studies/dari are available as majors. Any suggestions?

By the way, I’m a she :)
