I’m considering transfering to another undergrad business program. I’ll be a freshman at Isenberg as well as part of the Honors college. I’m sure i’ll love UMass but if i can get into a better business program why not go? Are Binghamton, Boston Univeristy, Lehigh, Penn state, and Northeastern any better than UMass’ Isenberg? Excited for UMass but if a better opportunity presents itself i’ll take it. Is it worth it?
First, you haven’t even started, and NO business will check the relative rankings of all these. What will matter is internship, leadership, relevant coursework.
Second, transfers get lousy aid. Can you afford to be full pay at any of the universities you listed?
Third, transfer opportunities don’t just “present themselves.” You have to go through the entire application process, just as you did for your initial admission. Is this something you want to go through again? And take away time and energy from the school you’re going to?
It is not an easy process. Think hard before you go through it.
