Should I continue a foreign language...?

Hello fellow CC members :D (I'm new here)

I'm a junior in high school and I'm currently taking AP French. My school offers French 6 after AP and I was wondering if I should take it or use that period to take another class I'm interested in since the AP class is definitely much more rigorous than French 6 and I've already taken four years of French before (French 1-4). Should I take French for all four years or should I just quit after this year since I'm interested in other? I definitely enjoy French class but I feel like French 6 might be unnecessary...? However, lots of colleges prefer students who take 4 years of a foreign language during high school and I don't really think this is necessary in my case. Anyhow I would like your opinions on this. Thanks :)

If you reach the fourth class in a language (i.e. French 4), then you have four years of a language, even if you took your first classes in middle school.
Since you already have an AP language class and most schools don’t offer anything beyond that anyway, it’s probably fine not to continue with your foreign language. But what would you be taking instead?

Probably an engineering class that’s offered at my school since that’s the field I’m interested in.
