I'm currently a Junior in High school, and I'm going to select courses for next year. I took Chinese 1, 2, and 3 in 8th, 9th, and 10th grades, but I didn't take it this year because I had other classes to take. I was just wondering what are the benefits if I continue taking it next year because my parents think it will look bad on my transcript if I take chinese since I am chinese myself.

I think it’d look bad. Our school is 76% Hispanic, and I’d say 5% or so take Spanish classes. It would look like you’ve been loading up on and easy A. Then again, if you’ve already done it for two years and are considering colleges that require three, you probably should go and do it despite the downsides.
