Should I convert my loans to work-study?

So, the case here is that I did not use any work study last year, so this year, the financial aid office has decided to give me all loans.

However, the irony of this situation as it pertains to me is that I now have a very well-paying student job on campus that its eligible for work study. However, my employment terms have nothing to do with work study, even though they do mention that it does a lot to help my department in terms of their budget.

Is there any point for me to convert my loans to work study? Or, is it best that I keep things the way they are and accept loans shall I ever need them? The likelyhood of that, though, is low since my job already gets me much more money than I'd get from the loans, even on a short-term basis.

Is the point of work study just to make it easier for students to find and keep jobs that pay well above usual? Or, are there other factors to this that I'm forgetting?

Makes sense to me. Check with your FA office and see if you can get some of it switched. There might be some WS money that didn’t get taken by another student freed up at this time to apply.
