Hi all I am new on this forum, and figured I sought out some outside, unbiased and objective opinions on whether I should defer my admissions to Baruch and holdout for NYU...

Here's the story:

I'm 24 years old and I recently returned to college. I attend Kingsborough Community College, and I'm doing really well here (3.78 GPA). I'm graduating at the end of this semester and from my calculation I should graduate with a 3.84 GPA.

I applied to Baruch College and I got accepted, but I also was planning on applying to NYU through the CCTOP program. The problem is the major I want to apply for is a Fall Admit only (Due to a recent rule change) so I can't apply to NYU now. I've spoken to and have somewhat built a good relationship with the director of the program. According to her assessment I have a strong chance of getting in... but obviously it's not a sure thing. With Baruch it's a sure thing and I would start in the spring.

Now, I've been thinking of deferring my admissions (which really means I would have to reapply) and holding out for NYU to apply for the fall.

Would anyone advise this? Does anyone know if it's frowned upon to decline admission then reapply? Basically what are your thoughts?

P.S. Also... I might be hearing back from St. John's University with an acceptance letter as well...
