Is this a legit way around score choice?...wondering why else this would exist.

Penn’s policy on this seems pretty clear (at least to me):

[Required Testing for Freshmen Applicants - Penn Admissions](http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/apply/freshman-admission/required-testing)

I don’t know why the ACT folks apparently allow you, in effect, to partially expunge your testing record, but their requirement that you complete and return a written form perhaps indicates that it’s something they’ll only do in extraordinary circumstances, and not automatically as a matter of right.

hmm perhaps. I don’t think I’d feel comfortable risking it anyway…but still am rather confused by this haha… I mean what exactly could sanctify an “extraordinary circumstance,” not feeling well? Doesn’t seem like it to me lol.

You could always call, email, or live chat with the ACT office to find out what’s required for deletion:

At least to satisfy your curiosity. :)

Good idea! Gonna give it a shot! Thanks!

So I spoke with a rep. via live chat and he said anyone can delete any test they want if they “feel as if a record doesnt reflect their level of performance.”

So with that in mind… I’m so confused as to why this feature even exists in the first place… like what if an applicant deleted their inferior tests before they knew they were applying to schools like Penn? Are they breaking the rules?

That’s a good question. You could always ask the Penn Admissions Office and see what they say about it.

^^^

I don’t think it wise or proper to ask the Penn’s Admissions Reps. The Penn policy is very clear. What is it that you’d like them to say?
