Should i do a few scholarships or no?

After reading some threads about scholarships on CC, I don't know if I should do these 3 scholarships i found (2 local and one not). I have critical financial need(total parent income of less than or around 10k a year) and I don't know if I will get merit-based aid. In addition, my dream school has not decided on my admission.

At the moment, I am willing to write 3 essays for these scholarships-- 2 have around 1000$ reward and 1 varies-- but I don't know whether I should wait until I see the financial-aid package from the colleges or I should start writing essays. (I heard that scholarships can even reduce my financial aid)

Check the policy of each college. Scholarships can reduce the financial aid package, but some schools reduce loans before they reduce grants. Scholarships will not affect any federal grants.

Every penny counts. Do the essays.

Go for it. I can’t see applying for scholarships as a bad thing. Do the essays. And good luck!
