hi everyone,
I got a guaranteed transfer to ilr but i'm not sure if its worth it for me to go. i'm really interested in business, do you guys think it makes sense to transfer to ilr or just go to a business school like nyu stern (if i get in).
thanks

Cornell is an Ivy league university. That has quite a powerful meaning in the business world and will probably benefit you.

Your ultimate decision though.

Cornell suggests in the GT information to accept their offer even if you're not sure whether you'll actually end up transferring. If you start at another school next year and fall in love with it, it's not a problem to cancel your GT to Cornell. So if you're even considering it, I'd say go ahead and accept, because it won't hurt you. :)

Go to your second choice school, have a good time, its too early to think about this, just do well and then after taking classes wherever you decide to go, you will know if you want to go to ILR or study something else. Just keep it in the back of your head.

if you're intersted in business, you can still major in something like art history and go into business after.

IMO, a major in "business" for an undergrad is kind of pointless. This is what an MBA is for. The ILR degree is much more diverse and will offer many more options upon graduating ... yet it still lands a nice chunk of its graduates in the "big" business fields.
