Should I do Cornell ED OR RD?

CORNELL early decision or regular?
Hey guys,

so I'm really tied between doing ED or RD. the ed percentage of kids accepted is pretty high. The thing is I checked the stats for the average gpas of accepted kids during EA and it's 2 points lower (94) than the RD gpa. However, since I have an issue with my gpa (check below) I looked at the lowest gpa accepted from my school and for RD is was an 88 (this kid was an under represented minority though) but for EA it was 92. so I don't really know if ED or RD would be best for me. so yea, give me your takes on this...thanks!!

APPLYING FOR HUMAN ECOLOGY

STATS

GPA- 88.67% in competitive nyc high school (my average may seem like a joke since I'm applying to top schools ...but here it goes- my freshman year i had a lot of trouble adjusting and I had a lot of negative influences my averages were like low 70s and such...however working in my lab and my mentor really influenced me (i plan to write about it in my essays)..and after freshman year my averages were all above 90

RANK (horrible)- 290/900- 32% due to my grade situation- transcript was hard to get up

Act comp- 34
Sat- 750 math-- 700 reading-- 750 writing- total:2200

SAT II's- BIO- 800 math 2- 800

Ap's=horrible. not reporting.

Extracurriculars / volunteer

Volunteered at the American Cancer society since freshman year, had an unpaid internship with them for two summers...reaching out to cancer patients...recruiting people...help organize the big walks

-- I work in a pathology lab working with pancreatic carcinoma. I've been there my soph and junior year and plan to be there next year..I work there up to 30 hrs/week during the school year and summer. I've written many papers, one of them along with other MD and PhD students which has been published

-- Volunteer at Hospital-- assist nurses, help out patients when ever they need me for something

-- School newspaper- reporter for three years, appointed Editor-In-Chief...my articles were published in different student websites and newsletters. I also freelance for a non profit organization, writing reviews weekly for their newsletter

-- Model U.N - v/president...self explanatory what you do there

--Tutor disadvantaged students in my old public elementary school during the summer- 6 years

Would you go if you got in? If the answer to that question is yes beyond any doubt, then apply ED.

Have you visited the campus? Figured out financial aid? Decided for sure that you would rather go there than any other school? If you have, then I say apply ED…if not, you might find yourself trapped if you get accepted.

So bear with me.

So I went through this bad phase in hs, where i pretty much lost sense of who I was and had a lot of negative influences. However, I did spectacular soph and junior year (from a 75 average to a 95). i plan to talk about the good influences that came in my life, but theres two and i dont know which to talk about. the first is going back to my home country (ive always been ashamed of my culture and my name, i was born there but never felt connected to it until i went there ). In my home country, I met all of my family, saw my birth place, saw very poor children desperate and trying to survive everyday. it really opened my eyes to were I came from.

the other is me working in a lab. (however I started this the end of sophomore year when i already was doing well for a year). working in a cancer lab helped me in so many ways- bre responsible…it pretty much helped me developed in a mature person (exp because of my influential mentor). it also corrolates with my work with the american cancer society but the thing is
EVERYONE SAYS THIS TYPE OF ESSAY IS SO CLICHE.
so yeah idk.

thanks a lot
